About the Role

Job Summary: 

The Director of Operations will be responsible for 1.) Operational strategy, 2.) Operational support 3.) Existing process management and 4.) Execution for the SelectQuote Senior Division.  While executing upon the 4 aforementioned endeavors, this individual will independently or collaboratively build solutions to operational challenges, project manage until fruition, and partner with the analytical support team for business case establishment and new or continued performance monitoring.

As a senior leader in this division, the ideal candidate must be able to communicate and influence internal senior division team members, the executive team, external partners, and the working team to meet objectives. Strong leadership and communications skills are imperative for this role.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide operational strategy, support, execution and leadership to the Senior Division
  • Carries out business execution and works in partnership to gain participants buy in on proposed approach for improving business performance.
  • Ensures delivery and execution related to operational reporting, strategic planning, and project execution are on time and identifies areas of potential risk in delivering to set timelines.
  • Responsible for leading qualitative and quantitative analysis to measure the success of the division or new initiatives
  • Assists to resolve issues, modeling effective data synthesis and analysis skills so that others can learn from the thought process
  • Works with team members cross functionally to analyze the overall impact of a divisional operational approach, including the opportunity costs of different courses of action
  • Leadership of Sr. Operations Managers and coordinators.
  • Represents the culture and values of SelectQuote.

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to drive optimal business performance
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to influence teams and matrix manage internal resources
  • Progressive experience in roles demanding analytical rigor and discipline
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Best in class analytical skills
  • Experience in operations and operational disciplines such as program and project management
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – creativity to identify opportunities when others may not see them and a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to execute
  • Experience managing partners and a willingness to have “tough conversations” to get the results needed
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills; comfortable with high degree of interaction with senior leadership team
  • Self-motivated with an extremely strong sense of urgency
  • Flexibility to adapt and change as priorities evolve
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time

Education and Experience:  

  • 10+ years of progressive management experience
  • At least 12 years of experience in an operational discipline (management, marketing, program management)
  • 10+ years leading a team
  • At least 5 years of experience in an analytical discipline such as finance or data analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver against a budgeted P&L
  • Proven experience as both a player and a coach – ability to execute while also leading and influencing others
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred)

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Compensation & Benefits:

The Compensation for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Full-time SelectQuote employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, voluntary short-term disability, company-paid long term disability, company-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), 401(k) + company match and 100% vesting after 4 years, discretionary profit sharing, employee stock purchase program (espp), paid time off, floating holidays, paid maternity leave, paid parental bonding leave, tuition reimbursement, jury duty pay, and other paid leaves vary based on work location.

Base Salary Minimum

$125,000

Base Salary Maximum

$135,000
