This role is located onsite and requires availability for our 6:00am - 2:30pm CST shift.

The Supervisor Pharmacy Shipping is responsible for overseeing and ensuring successful operation of the shipping & receiving department. This individual will assist the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC)/ Pharmacy Staff in sorting and packing of medication/supplies for delivery/shipments to community based clients. This person will Achieve customer satisfaction by promptly packing shipping orders accurately and in a timely manner addressing client questions and concerns and continuously maintaining SelectRx's positive image throughout the local communities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing and ensuring successful operation of the Shipping & Receiving department

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Delivery Department Maintenance – Responsible for overall maintenance and up-keep of delivery department/storage room (s). Delegate and perform daily  weekly and monthly duties to include but not limited to; coordinate/ route all  Community based deliveries scheduling of all delivery personnel trash disposal  (both regular & confidential) and clean dumpster room (dirty area) break down  all boxes cleaning counters & delivery shelves staging bins & delivery totes, receiving and stocking  shelves cleaning pharmacy refrigerator processing mail building shelves  medical records filing and cleaning & maintaining pharmacy medication carts  etc. 

• Budget/Purchasing – assists in developing and maintaining a budget for the delivery department on an annual basis. Assist in the bidding process of department supplies and services. Purchase necessary department supplies as approved by PIC. 

• Oversees and manages all human resource elements for the shipping & receiving department 

• Performs interviews and participate in hiring process for all potential shipping dept. candidates 

• Promotes customer service orientation to all employees

• Runs and provides various delivery reporting to Admin staff to illustrate the departments operational and logistics workflow; reports can be daily weekly and monthly depending on what delivery and/or pharmacy metrics need measured 

• Ensures sorting and packing of medications/supplies is in the appropriate manner per accounts/client 

• Moves and handles totes bins and/or boxes weighing 5-100 lbs. from shipping area to stock/fill areas then to vehicle (assisting device i.e. cart dolly etc. available) 

• Completes knowledge and understanding of the pharmacy’s CRM software (RxSource) and the pharmacy’s logistics software (SageQuest) 

• Understands all Pharmacy workflow operations and work closely with the Operations manager and all pharmacy departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery department processes 

• Ensures delivery log completion on a daily basis to include pharmacy departure time route locations to total mileage traveled etc

Education and Experience:

• Understands and maintains confidentiality regarding patient medications and illnesses (HIPPA)

• The SelectRx Pharmacy Warehouse team utilizes forklifts to efficiently manage the movement of necessary materials within its operations. These forklifts are integral to ensuring timely delivery of medications to patients. However given the inherent dangers associated with forklift operation it is crucial to implement stringent measures to ensure the safety of personnel and minimize the risk of accidents.

• In line with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations the SelectRx Pharmacy Warehouse and Shipping Area enforces a robust forklift usage policy. Key aspects of this policy include:

  • Authorization and Certification: Only authorized and certified personnel are allowed to operate forklifts. New operators must undergo comprehensive training programs and obtain certification before operating the machinery. Periodic refresher courses are mandatory to maintain proficiency.

  • Daily Inspection: Prior to each shift forklifts must undergo a thorough pre-use inspection. Any malfunctions or defects identified during the inspection must be reported to the supervisor immediately and the forklift should not be used until it passes inspection.

  • Safety Protocols: Strict safety protocols are in place including the requirement to wear seat belts at all times avoid stunt driving or horseplay refrain from carrying passengers and maintain safe speeds. Additionally operators must yield to pedestrians observe all traffic regulations and adhere to OSHA's classification of locations for forklift usage based on potential hazards.

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Regular maintenance checks must be conducted according to the manufacturer's guidelines. Any repairs or modifications must be approved by the manufacturer or constructed in accordance with recognized good engineering principles.

  • Drug and Alcohol Policy: Employees must comply with the company's drug and alcohol policy. Any employee found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while operating a forklift will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

  • Record Keeping: Accurate records of forklift inspections maintenance and operator training must be kept up to date and available for review by regulatory agencies.

• Valid Kansas driver’s license
