About the Role

The SVP of Healthcare Strategic Development is a key executive responsible for shaping and driving the organization's long-term growth strategy in the healthcare industry. This leader will identify new market opportunities foster strategic partnerships and oversee business development initiatives that align with the company’s mission and financial goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare trends payer-provider dynamics regulatory landscapes and innovative care delivery models. 

Lead transformative initiatives that shape the future of healthcare and work with a dynamic mission-driven executive team in a rapidly evolving industry.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies to expand the organization's presence in the healthcare sector
  • Identify new business opportunities including partnerships mergers and acquisitions and market expansion
  • Evaluate industry trends competitive landscape and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions
  • Drive innovation in service offerings care models and technology adoption to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency
  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with healthcare providers payers health systems pharmaceutical companies and government agencies
  • Lead contract negotiations and partnership agreements to maximize business growth and profitability
  • Develop new revenue streams through innovative business models and service line expansions
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including operations finance marketing and healthcare leadership—to ensure strategic initiatives are effectively implemented
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to achieve business objectives ensuring seamless integration of new initiatives
  • Monitor market trends emerging technologies and competitive activities to identify threats and opportunities
  • Leverage data analytics and market research to inform decision-making and drive evidence-based strategies
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences forums and networking events to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership

  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams drive cross-functional collaboration and influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to synthesize complex data identify opportunities and develop actionable strategies
  • Exceptional presentation negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills leadership capabilities and analytical skills
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to solve routine or complicated problems effectively and drive projects to successful completion
  • Aptitude to develop partnerships with teams within the department and across the company
  • Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports
  • Proficient at planning organizing and presenting training activities to diverse employee groups
  • Comfortable with authoring many types of documents including agendas action/project plans and presentations 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Healthcare Administration or a related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in healthcare strategy business development or related fields required 
  • 7+ years in a senior leadership role required
  • Deep understanding of healthcare ecosystems including value-based care population health management provider-payer relationships and emerging healthcare technologies
  • Strong understanding of healthcare economics reimbursement models and financial forecasting

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The Compensation for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Full-time SelectQuote employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, voluntary short-term disability, company-paid long term disability, company-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), 401(k) + company match and 100% vesting after 4 years, discretionary profit sharing, employee stock purchase program (espp), paid time off, floating holidays, paid maternity leave, paid parental bonding leave, tuition reimbursement, jury duty pay, and other paid leaves vary based on work location.
