About the Role

As a Manager Software Engineering you will lead multiple teams of software engineers focusing on people leadership while maintaining strong technical oversight. You will identify and implement process improvements while ensuring delivery of high-quality software products. You will foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while aligning technical execution with business goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams
  • Drive hiring and performance management processes
  • Identify and implement team-level process improvements
  • Foster cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Develop future technical leaders
  • Create inclusive team environments that encourage innovation
  • Oversee technical designs and architecture decisions
  • Develop and implement engineering best practices
  • Partner with product managers to define technical approaches
  • Manage resource allocation and capacity planning
  • Drive technical debt reduction strategies
  • Ensure scalability and security in technical solutions
  • Step in to provide technical direction when needed
  • Own incident response processes and on-call rotations
  • Define and implement monitoring strategies
  • Provide escalation support across teams
  • Maintain quality standards and service level objectives
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies
  • Build relationships with technical leaders across domains
  • Drive knowledge sharing and technical documentation
  • Identify potential process improvements through industry research

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong technical background with proven leadership experience
  • Excellent people management and mentoring skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to provide hands-on technical guidance when needed
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices
  • Experience balancing technical debt with feature delivery

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Experience managing multiple technology stacks
  • Strong background in agile development practices
  • Track record of building and leading successful engineering teams 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The Compensation for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

 

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Base Salary Minimum

$130,000

Base Salary Maximum

$160,000
