About the Role

The Director Operations will lead the SelectQuote Auto & Home Operations team. This position is responsible for providing data-driven insights and recommendations on the business and operational support execution and project management of key programs within the SQAH division. 

 

This position will be tasked with identifying opportunities to improve the overall performance of the division and then executing them. This could include coming up with new processes or procedures to streamline certain tasks finding ways to reduce costs or identifying opportunities to increase revenue and working cross functionally to implement. It will also include workflow optimization. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate and influence internal division team members the executive team and the working team to meet objectives. Strong leadership and communications skills are imperative for this role.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a robust understanding of SQAH profitability and key profit drivers 
  • Develop manage maintain and report on all reporting for division 
  • Direct detailed quantitative analysis work associated with developing meaningful insights to business performance for the division.
  • Develop and maintain responsibility for performance and metric reporting on an historical basis
  • Review and analyze carrier partner reporting synthesize and communicate key findings to management.
  • Responsible for leading qualitative and quantitative analysis to measure the success of the entire division or new initiatives 
  • Perform analyses and assessments of current product offering to target market
  • Determine where we are competitively and where we would like to be competitive (geographically demographically underwriting)
  • Produce clear and concise presentations regarding projects and other assigned tasks
  • Analyze division performance history to determine optimum levels of productivity helping to minimize waste
  • Perform additional ad-hoc reports and projects as assigned from time to time
  • Lead the project management of new and existing reporting quoting sales process/underwriting and servicing technologies

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of all personal lines property and casualty products industry environment national competitors; ability to suggest changes to maximize agency profitability is preferred 
  • Strong analytical skills sales technology acumen and ability to synthesize large amounts of data to determine and direct meaningful change in the business
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to drive optimal business performance 
  • Progressive experience in roles demanding analytical rigor and discipline 
  • Strong business and financial acumen 
  • Functional analytical skills (projecting costing budgeting etc.)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to make decisions with incomplete/imperfect data
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus at all levels of management
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to influence teams and manage internal resources 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – creativity to identify opportunities when others may not see them and a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to execute 
  • Self-motivated with an extremely strong sense of urgency 

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency with SQL required
  • 10+ years of progressive management experience leading a team
  • 12 years of experience in an operational discipline (management marketing program management) at least 8 years of experience in an analytical discipline such as finance or data analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver against a budgeted P&L
  • Proven experience as both a player and a coach – ability to execute while also leading and influencing others

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Base Salary Minimum

$135,000

Base Salary Maximum

$150,000
