About the Role

SelectRX one of the country’s fastest growing Patient Centered Pharmacy at Home pharmacies is a high touch technology-driven specialized medication management pharmacy.  We engage virtually with patients to ensure accurate prescription records are maintained in order to achieve improved prescription drug adherence. SelectRX does this by providing a personalized clinical approach driven by a robust technology platform to track adherence with a world-class pharmaceutical packing and distribution facility.

 

Develop implement and manage product or service acquisition and supply chain management strategies that drive increased value for internal clients in terms of reduced costs improved quality service technology and processes. Negotiate complex agreements including licenses maintenance agreements master services agreements statements of work and service level agreements for products and/or services according to department and Corporate Legal guidelines and templates. Collaborate with Corporate Legal concerning negotiation and contract strategies and priorities. Oversee all aspects of Rx drug purchasing and inventory management.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Implementation of policies to minimize prescription drugs costs while maintaining clinical requirements
  • Develops and implements standards processes and procedures pertaining to the prescription drug inventory management to minimize inventory write-offs
  • Participates in complex contract negotiations; leads negotiation process of any terms and conditions which have financial impact i.e. pricing model payment terms etc.; manages multiple contract negotiations interfacing with numerous internal departments
  • Develops and implements standards processes and procedures pertaining to the procurement of product categories and services as they relate to business practices
  • Develops and implements standards and guidelines (supporting processes and procedures) for three pharmacy locations providing guidance for inventory management to ensure the production and fulfillment processes are operating efficiently
  • Presents analytics recommendations and results to senior management. Communicates negotiation objectives scope strategy and direction
  • Develops and manages relationships with new and key suppliers to sustain thorough knowledge of current activity and prospective business opportunities. Establish annual objectives for contract supplier performance product pricing quality technological support where necessary best practices and Minority supplier commitment. Facilitates supplier meetings and reviews. Ensures contract terms and service levels are being adhered to
  • Performs research on industry trends products pricing and tools including evaluating supplier responses; developing complex financial reports and models; and completing financial analyses to support savings documentation and financial due diligence
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide information and advice on business financial issues pertaining to technology acquisitions
  • Review and negotiate existing agreements to optimize commercial terms
  • Ensure compliance with any laws and regulations providing support for third party requests from regulators auditors or others as applicable.

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask
  • Proficient in ERP and inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and e-procurement tools.
  • Knowledge of sourcing procurement supplier negotiation and inventory management
  • Service oriented with a high degree of interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • High professional ethics and standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy software and reporting system
  • Understand and maintains confidentiality regarding patient medications and illnesses (HIPAA).
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management associates clients and general public.
  • Highly developed negotiation facilitation problem solving decision making and consensus building skills
  • Extensive financial analysis and planning skills; business value analysis skills
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems personal computers and software such as MS Word Excel PowerPoint Access Project and business process modeling

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor's in Business Supply Chain or other related field.
  • 5-7 years of complex product or service acquisition and contract negotiation experience required. 
  • Healthcare or pharmacy operations experience including pharmaceutical inventory management experience preferred

Certificates/Licenses/Registration:

  • Certified Purchasing Manager preferred.
