About the Role

The Sr. Manager Digital Marketing will play a pivotal role within our digital marketing team. The ideal candidate will be a key player in driving growth and profitability through the strategic allocation and hands-on management of multi-million-dollar annual budgets across Vertical Search Affiliate and Social channels optimizing campaign performance and uncovering actionable insights that directly affect the business. This person will have the ability to roll up their sleeves be hands on in the details and have the ability to communicate with confidence across all levels of the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and optimize performance marketing campaigns across lead gen channels such as Affiliates and third-party marketing platforms
  • Own budget allocation real-time bidding strategy and quarterly forecasting for campaigns with multi-million-dollar annual budgets
  • Report on KPIs and performance metrics to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Leverage Excel and internal tools to analyze large datasets measure performance and give timely recommendations to senior leadership
  • Translate complex data into actionable strategies to improve KPIs across the performance marketing funnel
  • Identify conversion rate optimization (CRO) opportunities in tandem with Web Operations and Call Center Team leaders to improve customer journey and overall ROI
  • Seek out trends in the health insurance marketing space and articulate this research into actionable tests 
  • Collaborate with internal teams including design analytics product and operations to ensure alignment on goals and priorities for the division

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale marketing budgets and delivering strong ROI
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs etc.); experience with SQL or BI tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data into clear actionable insights
  • Familiarity with CRO strategies and tools such Optimizely or similar
  • Experience in insurance healthcare or other regulated industries is a plus
  • Confidence to become a subject matter expert for your channel and to present these strategies to senior leadership
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced results-driven environment
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work across matrixed organizations to achieve goals

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6+ years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on performance-based channels (e.g. PPC affiliate marketing lead gen)
  • 4+ years direct supervisory experience

Financial Responsibilities (budget revenue):

  • This position has budget responsibility control. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
