About the Role

This position will assist the director of healthcare compliance in numerous facets of company compliance including adherence to HIPAA CMS guidelines and other healthcare regulations and requirements.  This role will also include the assessment of regulatory and carrier issues/complaints and patient escalations collaborating with the pharmacy quality and compliance team.  In addition this position will assist the director of healthcare compliance with third party vendor management including completion of assessments from carriers and other partners and monitoring compliance with requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complaint investigations and documentation
  • Monitoring third party vendor compliance
  • Assist with healthcare policy development and process audits as directed by director of healthcare compliance
  • Assist with audits related to Healthcare Compliance Workplan
  • Monitor compliance with healthcare specific training (HIPAA FWA CMS General Compliance training)
  • Collaborate with other compliance areas as needed for auditing and monitoring functions
  • Assist with completion of security and third party assessments
  • Manage process for communication of HIPAA disclosures and documentation
  • Support director of healthcare compliance in other regulatory requirements as needed

Education and Experience: 

  • Two years’ experience minimum but four years preferred in compliance role
  • Associate's degree in legal studies/paralegal business administration safety compliance or a related field
  • Healthcare compliance experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
