About the Role

The Director, Compensation establishes operational objectives, policies, and procedures of SelectQuote’s compensation programs. Ensures SelectQuote remains competitive in the market, and ensures fairness and equity in the execution of the Compensation Philosophy. Provides compensation data analytics support to leadership to inform and support strategic and operational goals.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Drives Compensation strategy for all SelectQuote associates.
  • Responsible for the development, administration, and implementation for compensation policies and practices
  • Lead the execution of compensation programs including annual merit increases, annual bonus plans, long term incentives, and pay for performance practices
  • Assists in the market analysis and strategy for incentive, stock option and bonus plan design and administration programs to attract and retain employees.
  • Conduct comprehensive market competitive analysis of all positions on an annual basis and high demand, high turnover position as needed
  • Partner with HRBPs, recruiting, and leaders to provide insight and recommendations on compensation matters that both support business goals and ensure fairness and equity across the organization
  • Manages third party vendors and outside consultants
  • Oversees systematic audits to ensure compliance with all labor and benefit laws, and stays current on regulatory changes
  • Responsible for all compliance with SOX pertaining to compensation tasks.
  • Oversee the job requisition process and the execution of new job codes, job descriptions, and job titling/leveling
  • Ensures consistency with job leveling and FLSA compliance
  • Participate in meetings and planning with leaders to execute strategic compensation objectives
  • Develop and deliver compensation trainings
  • Oversee the submission of survey data for salary benchmarking with third party administrators
  • Audits data and ensures changes are processed to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Identifies improvements to existing processes and procedures to drive excellence and efficiencies
  • Creates a positive team environment and inspires others by celebrating successes

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related business field required
  • 7-8 years of relevant professional experience, with 4 years specifically in compensation experience preferred
  • 4 years of leadership experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with UKG, iCIMS and CompXL is a plus
  • Experience in a multi-state 500+ employee insurance, financial, or service industry office environment is desirable
  • Knowledge of federal laws and regulations related to the administration of compensation programs

 

Certificates/Licenses/Registration:

  • Certified Compensation Professional Certification preferred

 

Financial Responsibilities:

  • This position has budget responsibility, authority and/or level of control. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
